This is not the usual Kenya safari. The Rare Five Safari is designed for travellers who want to go beyond the familiar safari circuit and discover the distinctive wildlife of Northern Kenya: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1
Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet the Come Travel Kenya team and transfer privately to your Nairobi hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to rest after your international flight.
Day 2
Day 2
Nairobi to Meru National Park
After breakfast, meet your private safari guide for a briefing before departing for Meru National Park. Arrive, check in and enjoy lunch before resting. In the late afternoon, head out on your first game drive.
Day 3

Meru National Park
Spend the day exploring Meru, one of Kenya's quieter and more rewarding safari landscapes. Morning and afternoon game drives focus on rivers, grasslands, bush country and woodland areas.
Day 4
Day 4
Meru to Samburu National Reserve
Depart for Samburu, the heart of the Rare Five experience. The landscape becomes drier and more rugged as you travel north. Arrive for lunch and your first Samburu game drive. Look for Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Samburu National Reserve
Full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. The early morning is ideal for wildlife activity, photography and tracking rare northern species.
Day 6
Day 6
Samburu National Reserve
Second full day in Samburu. Having two full days gives a better chance of finding all five rare species and enjoying Samburu's atmosphere without rushing.

Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya's most important conservation areas. Arrive for lunch, rest, then enjoy an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is known for rhino conservation and a powerful conservation story.

Day 8
Ol Pejeta to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast before departing for Nairobi. Transfer to JKIA, your Nairobi hotel or a farewell lunch depending on onward travel plans.
