Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
Your adventure begins with a scenic 5-hour drive from Nairobi, descending into the Great Rift Valley. You'll arrive at Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch. Settle into your Family Tent before heading out for your first thrilling afternoon game drive at 15:30, searching for lions, elephants, and other members of the Big Five. Return to camp for dinner and overnight, listening to the sounds of the African night.
Day 2 & 3: Full Days in the Masai Mara
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. In the afternoon, enjoy a unique cultural experience at The Maa Trust. This community conservancy focuses on empowering Maasai families through wildlife conservation. Your family can interact with women's beadwork groups, men creating leather products, and perhaps local children during study sessions. The afternoon concludes with another game drive en route back to camp. Evenings are spent sharing stories of the day's sightings under a blanket of stars.
Children's Safari Activities
Your children (ages 6, 9, and 11) will be fully immersed in Maasai culture through guided Bow & Arrow lessons and beadwork sessions. Under the guidance of Maasai instructors, they'll learn traditional skills and create bracelets or other souvenirs to treasure as memories of their Kenyan adventure.
Day 4: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Enjoy a final breakfast at the camp before departing at 10:00 with packed lunches. Bid farewell to the Mara team and begin your return journey to Nairobi, arriving at your hotel by approximately 16:00.
